Bingo and Oklahoma: 2 birds of a feather
Oklahoma has long been interrelated with Bingo. That’s because the Indian bands of Oklahoma have operated Bingo sessions for decades. Guests from many of the neighboring states get in automobiles and travel into Oklahoma to enjoy Bingo over the weekends.
The 1988 IGRA followed a benchmark decree by The U.S. Supreme Court just the prior year. From that time, twenty three of the 39 American Indian tribes located in Oklahoma have opened gambling halls. The Chickasaw were the 1st Oklahoma Native band to take advantage of the gambling laws, and today run ten gambling halls of their own.
